Water Softening Systems

Hard water forms scale in steam boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers and dishwashing lines. A 1 mm layer of scale can cut heat transfer by up to 10%, which goes straight onto the fuel and electricity bill. Our softening systems exchange calcium and magnesium ions for sodium as water passes through a cationic resin bed, bringing hardness down to 0–1 °F. In a fully automatic tandem configuration one vessel regenerates while the other keeps running, so production is never interrupted. Regeneration is volume-controlled: salt is consumed according to the volume of water treated rather than on a timer, which lowers both salt consumption and waste water. Suitable for hotels, hospitals, food plants, laundries and any facility running a steam boiler.
