Ultraviolet Disinfection Systems
Ultraviolet disinfection works by UV-C light at 254 nm disrupting the DNA of microorganisms. Bacteria, viruses and chlorine-resistant protozoa such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium lose their ability to reproduce. The main advantage of the method is that it uses no chemicals: it leaves no taste, odour or residue in the water and forms no disinfection by-products such as trihalomethanes. That makes it the preferred option in food and beverage production, pharmaceuticals and drinking water lines. Our systems come with a 316L stainless steel reactor body, quartz sleeve and UV intensity sensor as standard. The sensor raises an alarm when lamp output falls below the critical level, so disinfection performance is measured rather than assumed. Dose is selected between 30–40 mJ/cm² according to the application.
Features
Why UV Disinfection?
99.99% microorganism inactivation with 254 nm UV-C
No chemicals, no by-products
Effective against chlorine-resistant protozoa
Continuous performance monitoring via UV sensor
316L stainless steel reactor body
Does not alter taste or odour
How It Works
Treatment Stages
Pre-filtration
Turbidity is removed so UV light penetrates the water.
UV Reactor
Water passes around a quartz-sleeved UV-C lamp.
Dose Control
An intensity sensor continuously measures the applied dose.
Alarm and Reporting
The system raises an alarm when lamp output drops.
